Double Tiger is outernational heavy. Electronic dub sounds from Brooklyn, NYC inspired by the original creators like Lee Perry, King Tubby and Scientist are transported to the next stop on the cosmic starliner with producer-artist Jay Spaker(Double Tiger, J-san & the Analogue Sons). A potent high grade of bass music bridging the foundation with the future time.
While he is not in the lab Double Tiger’s Jay Spaker can be found performing internationally in full band or sound system form, often dubbing himself and improvising live with microphone and sound power, bringing flame to the dance from Brooklyn to Tokyo and back.
Having had the honour of sharing the stage with man like, Burning Spear, Toots, Israel Vibration, Culture, Mad Professor, Meditations, Wailers, Itals and more Jay Spaker has had ample time to study from the founders and hone his stage show and microphone control. Double Tiger was born of a desire to travel deeper into the unexplored territories of electronic, roots and dub. DT seeks to merge the sound of the heaviest directly dub influenced dance musics creating a deadly, stealth-hybrid sure to please fans of dubstep, electronic, dub, and bass music with a ferocity and ‘jump’ that has the two-finger salute reach for the ceiling in dubstep, combined with the big horns, the big chords and the hot-blooded rebel soul melody of roots rock reggae.
Jay Spaker handles vocals, all production and writing for Double Tiger. A lone electronic dub warrior stepping forward, run come feel the niceness that is Double Tiger.
The first single off the debut album as dubstep warrior Double Tiger brings together all elements and artists that epitomise his sound – the original version of the song ‘No Give Up’ tells of the tireless spirit which rises against all harships to triumph, in the most soulful and heartfelt voice, over a dub/reggae based electronic soundscape. This original is remixed and dub mixed by some of the most talented producers across the world – from the new face of Tempa, the UK home of dubstep and UK funky represented by staple artists like Skream and Benga, J:Kenzo, to Japanese next level post-step duo AZZXSSS, Hospital Records favourite T-AK all the way through to one of the only living Jamaican dub legends from originator King Tubby’s camp, Scientist, providing an instrumental and vocal dub specifically for this release.
